Vincent Epplay is a visual and sound artist, designing sonic environments and exploring the materiality of sound and its modes of diffusion. His projects include for instance, sound installations, web-based projects, generative music cd-roms and live performances. He creates loci for listening, by staging sound and questioning the contexts of production and diffusion, the relationships between emission and reception, as well as the behaviourial dynamics of the listener-spectator. Epplay’s multifaceted practice delves into the connection between sound and image, offering the visitors an experimental terrain as they become attentive listeners. Whatever is their form, his pieces are spaces that create conditions for individual and collective listening experiences.
